The Bible is made up of 66 smaller books, 39 in the Old Testament, which was written first, and 27 in the New Testament, which was written later. About 40 men wrote the Bible down. They were guided by God's Holy Spirit in every word they wrote.

The Old Testament starts with the book of Genesis and tells about God making the world, the plants and animals, and last of all, people!

The first two people, Adam and Eve, disobeyed God and brought all the trouble into our world that we see everywhere. Disobeying God is called sin, and all of us have disobeyed God.
