God sent His only Son into this world to set us free from sin. Jesus came as a baby born in Bethlehem, and as He grew up He never sinned even once, because He is God as well as a man:

..in him is no sin. (1 John 3:5)

He traveled the land of Israel showing God's love, teaching people how to know the Father, and healing the sick just by speaking or touching them.

He did only good things, but His enemies arrested Him and had the Romans put Him to death like a criminal—beating Him, nailing Him to a wooden cross, and piercing His side with a spear.

Why would God let this happen to the Son He loves? It was all part of the Father's plan to rescue us from sin!
