APRIL 21: WALK for Good News Club!
Walk one mile on April 21 at L.R. Green School in Escondido (above, near North County Fair Shopping Center) and be part of reaching our goal -- a Good News Club at every public elementary and middle school in North County!
Help us raise two things: funds and awareness.
Everyone -- GNC kids, volunteers, friends of CEF -- can WALK, and anyone can SPONSOR a walker or two with a donation to the cause!
Then after the walk, have a picnic at Kit Carson Park across the street!

PRAISE REPORTS
PRAISE God for the legacy of faithful service to the Lord left by longtime CEF volunteer John Nash of Oceanside, who entered God's presence this past week and was laid to rest in Riverside. John just kept going well into his 80s, teaching at Good News Clubs (most recently Garrison School), 5-Day Clubs, the Escondido Street Faire (photo above), and multiple dates each year at the San Diego County Fair. When illness recently meant retirement from work with CEF, he donated all his teaching materials to others. They were eagerly snatched up by volunteers at our latest training class and are now being put to good use at Good News Clubs. John never tired of telling children the story of his own salvation as a teen and never stopped encouraging them to put their trust in Jesus, too. He leaves behind an untold number of lives touched by his dedicated ministry.
PRAISE the Lord for doing great things at our recently-opened Good News Club at Olive School in Vista. Team member Kitty Freeman sends photos and reports that attendance was up the second week by 10 new kids to 44 in all! Above, leader Rosa Urias teaches the group from the Bible.

PRAISE the Lord for a note to all our volunteers from retired GNC leaders Allie and Bill Scofield of Oceanside: "Just a word of encouragement and a thank you for the work that you are doing! We are praying for you, the leaders and helpers and the children. It is so exciting to know the power of God as you work to set up Good News Clubs to teach sweet little children about salvation in Jesus."
PRAISE God for big blessings at our GNC at Live Oak School in Fallbrook! Team member Linda Kurtz emails: "These (above and below) are pictures of Live Oak Good News Club at our first meeting on Jan. 4. Since then, our group has tripled in size! Five have been saved."
"Prayer request: a new or bigger space!"
PRAISE the Lord for a quick and positive update on week two at our Valley School GNC in Poway. Busy leader Marie Davis sends a text: "40 kids (up 14 from the week before),12 saved. After-school daycare program asked for 100 flyers. No more chair space in classroom."
PRAISE God that our GNC at Beaumont School in Vista is happening again after a season without a club! Pastor Sam Cracchiolo, leader of the team, sends word after opening day on Jan. 26: "Awesome first class! Can't wait to see what God will do in these children's hearts."
PRAISE the Lord for a welcome from the principal for our GNC at Reidy Creek School in Escondido! Two days after we applied she emailed: "We look forward to having the Good News Club on our campus again!"
PRAYER NEEDS
PRAY for our new Meadowbrook Middle School Teen Good News Club starting this Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2:35-3:35pm in Poway. Please pray for a good turnout from this hard-to-reach age group. Pray that lots of Christian kids will come, and also that many from "unchurched" backgrounds will want to hear from God's Word. Pray for leader Marie Davis and her team as they minister to the needs of kids in the public school environment. Pray that this club will be used of the Lord to draw kids to Himself in faith and faithfulness.
PRAY for a big burst of new volunteers! Ask the Lord to bring the servants needed for so many GNCs that have not been able to start yet this season for lack of helpers. There is still time for clubs to get underway, but time is fleeting. Please make this a daily request!
