Praise & Prayer Bulletin 10.13.08

PRAISE REPORTS

 
PRAISE the Lord for all He is doing at our Good News Club at Felicita School in Escondido (photo above). A volunteer team member emails: "We are having a wonderful bumper crop of children this year. Last week 78 eager little bodies crammed into one classroom. Today we had 85 enthusiastic kiddos and were moved into the auditorium. Several wanted to trust Christ as Savior for the first time. One mother said that she is bringing her daughter because she is unable to teach her about God. After a small conversation, she agreed to receive a Bible for herself next week so that she may begin reading it. Pray that we might have a fruitful follow-up with her."
 
PRAISE God for the first meeting of our new GNC at Palmquist School in Oceanside. The team leader reports she was praising the Lord, "watching children from the school worshiping God and hearing about God. The kids were very interested and one child shared it was the highlight of her day!" There were 34 boys and girls! (Please pray for 2 or 3 more helpers needed for this team.)
 
PRAISE the Lord for the 67 kids at the first meeting of our GNC at Juniper School in Escondido this past Wednesday!
 
PRAISE God for the good response to our table at an outreach ministry fair at a church in Escondido this weekend. We had the opportunity to inform believers that Good News Clubs are in the public schools and they can get involved. Fifteen people signed up to get this bulletin and several expressed interest in volunteering at GNCs! Many said they'd be praying for our needs.
 
PRAISE the Lord for the opportunity to represent the ministry at a Carlsbad church's missions dinner this Friday, where we'll have an information table.

PRAYER NEEDS

PRAY for our outreach this Sunday, Oct 19, at the Escondido St Faire (photo above), 9am to 5pm. We'll be in space 572 on the south side of Grand Av (between Maple and B'way), inviting kids in to make their own "wordless book" bracelets, then explaining the Gospel message using the colors of the beads. Please pray for good weather, a big turnout, and that LOTS of kids and parents will stop by. Pray that the Lord will open hearts to receive His Word and respond in faith. Pray that kids will sign up for the "CEF Mailbox Club" Bible lessons by mail.

PRAY for a retired police officer who is interested in getting involved in GNCs in the schools. Please pray for the Lord's guidance for him about joining an existing team or putting a team together to start a new club at Orange Glen School in Escondido.

PRAY for a home-school mother who is considering volunteering for our Reidy Creek School team, which needs a few more members before the club can get underway. Pray that other mothers she knows will also be able to help when they hear about the opportunity.

PRAY for a mother who volunteers at Mission Middle School in Escondido and who just learned about CEF's Junior Youth Challenge clubs for middle schools. She is interested in informing other mothers and getting a team togerther to start a club. Please pray for the Lord's step-by-step guidance and that as she spreads the word committed volunteers will sign on to reach the kids for Jesus!
