Praise & Prayer Bulletin 11.17.08
PRAISE REPORTS
PRAISE God that
our Lincoln School Good News Club in Escondido will be meeting
again! The team has come together and is scheduling a January 15
start date. (Please be in prayer as we submit the application to
the district and as the team gets ready to reach the kids. Pray
also that God would be preparing the kids to hear from Him!)
PRAISE
the Lord for answered prayer! God has been building the
team for a GNC at Bonsall Elementary in His own amazing way, and
this week the last volunteer needed to complete the team has
answered the call! (Please pray as we apply for use of facilities
for what will be our first club in the Bonsall district. Pray
that the Lord would smooth the way ahead and that the club would
win quick approval and be able to get underway in January.)
PRAISE the Lord for over 600 boys and girls who enrolled in our Good News Clubs in North County in the month of October alone and for the 153 who made first time professions of faith in Christ!
PRAISE God for His work in the lives of kids! Many of the boys and girls at GNCs are "hiding God's Word in their hearts" by faithfully learning their memory verses each week. At some clubs kids are coloring their "verse tokens" and collecting them in an album. Below is one colored by a boy at a club in Escondido. (The "Jesus" stamp means he learned his verse and was able to say it the next week!)
PRAYER NEEDS
PRAY that we can get our GNC at Glen View School in Escondido going again! We had a big club there three seasons ago but didn't continue it because of obstacles imposed by the principal. Now there is a new principal and we will soon be submitting an application. Please pray that the principal and staff will be supportive and that we will be assigned an adequate room. Pray that we could start by the middle of January. Pray for a good response from kids and parents.
PRAY that our GNC kids who have been receiving 60-day "Wonder Devotional Books" will be faithful to spend time each day of the week with the Lord. This season's books are all about Jesus! Pray that God would use the solid Bible teaching in the books to build kids up in their Christian walks at home and school and to help them form a lifelong habit of daily devotions.
