REPORTS
PRAISE God
that our new GNC for Olivenhain Pioneer Elementary
in the Encinitas district was approved in record time!
The application was submitted after the school office
had closed for the day, but that same evening the principal
emailed to say that our volunteers "are more than
welcome to use the facility....We look forward to having you at
OPE." (Please pray that we'll be assigned a good room
for the club.)
PRAISE
the Lord for answered prayer! One of our North County
GNC volunteers, Judy Erickson, has been praying for years
that a club would be approved at her grandchildren's
school in Temecula. Just recently she got word that the
principal has given the go-ahead at last! (Please pray
for Judy as she will be taking on this GNC as well
as the one she will be leading at Reidy Creek in
Escondido.)
PRAISE
God that our longest-running after-school club in
Escondido, Oak Hill, has a volunteer team ready to start
the club again on Feb. 3.
PRAISE
the Lord for a report from team leader Deanna
Tebbe at our Palmquist School GNC in Oceanside. Parents were
invited to come to the last club meeting of the year, and 15 were
there! The club will resume in January.
PRAYER NEEDS
PRAY for an Escondido church which is exploring the
possibility of starting a "J-You Connection"
(JYC) club at one of the local middle schools, perhaps Del
Dios (photo above). The youth pastor was excited to learn about
Good News Clubs in the public schools from another church staff
member who leads a club, and he is looking into getting a
team together. Praise God for all the recent interest in reaching
the middle schoolers through this CEF ministry. This year's
lessons are all about "Following Jesus" (photo below).
Please be in prayer for the Lord's guidance in getting this
outreach up and running in North County's middle schools!
PRAY
for our GNC leader from Ramona, Terri Nagem,
as she works to interest churches and recruit and
encourage volunteers. We have not been able to start
our James Dukes School club yet this season for lack of
team members. Terri also would like to see a club happening
at Ramona Elementary where she works. Please ask the Lord to stir
things up among believers in Ramona and bring teams together
to reach the schools in that community!
PRAY
for two areas in North County where
we've been hoping to see Good News Clubs for years -- Valley
Center and Camp Pendleton. Both have lots of kids who need to
hear about Jesus! There has been interest by individuals at
various schools in these communities, but no club has gotten
underway. Please pray that the Lord would make the need and
opportunity known, work in hearts, connect people, and raise up
leadership!
