REPORTS
..
PRAISE the
Lord for answered prayer! One
of our unreached communities in North County
that we've been asking you to pray for is Camp
Pendleton Marine Corps Base (photo of the main gate
above). It's like a city unto itself, with a population of
around 36,000. There are 5 public elementary schools on base with
a total of over 3,600 kids! We were recently put in
touch with a base chaplain's wife who had heard about
after-school Good News Clubs and wanted to know more. Now she is
actively recruiting team members for a club at Mary Fay
Pendleton School where she works in the after-school daycare
program and has established an excellent relationship with
the principal. Please be in prayer for the Lord's guidance and
provision for the needs of this new club and that it would be
able to start very soon. Also pray for a smooth application
process, since Mary Fay Pendleton would be our first school in
the Fallbrook district.
PRAISE the Lord that another club is now scheduled to start this month, bringing the total to nine! The application has been submitted, and the GNC at Reynolds School in Oceanside (photo above) is set to begin its second season on January 30. Please pray for the volunteer team, all members of the Bruccoleri family, as they get ready to minister to the kids.
PRAYER
NEEDS
PRAY as
flyers announcing the start
of Good News Clubs go out at a number of
schools this week. Please pray that all
the classroom teachers would distribute them to their
students and that the kids would get the flyers home and
into the hands of parents. Please ask the Lord to be at work
in the hearts and minds of parents who are in doubt or
undecided about sending their kids, and to encourage them to sign
their children up. Pray that many, many kids from families
who are part of non-Christian religions or no religion, those who
have never heard or believed the Good News of
Jesus would be enrolled. Pray also that the
Christian kids at each school would sign up and be there to
fellowship and grow with the other believers at their
schools. Pray that the Lord would use these new clubs of the
new year to change lives, families, schools, and communities!
PRAY as a
number of ongoing clubs resume this week. Please pray that
parents and kids will remember that GNCs are starting again. Pray
that kids who have been coming will return and bring friends with
them. Pray that the volunteers will be blessed,
rewarded, and reinvigorated by the Lord in their service for Him.

Survey
Results -- For all those who have
responded to our survey, THANK YOU! Here are some of the things
we are hearing from you:
•Time
management and commitments are very full. You are a
generous CEF family to be praying and giving.
•Because
your time and energies need to be placed for the greatest
returns, we are going to offer opportunities for enrichment,
encouragement and equipping at the most doable time slots.
•The
first will be during our Teacher's Forum on Saturday, January 10,
2009 (please see below).
•We
will announce in advance what will be offered so that if you can
come even to part of it, you will benefit. So check out the
schedule for January 10! We will be having two special guests!
•There
are many of you that pray for us and for this we are tremendously
grateful. Without the foundation of prayer we cannot go into the
front lines of this battle. Yet we remember, the
battle is the Lord's. Let's keep on our spiritual armor. (Eph. 6)
•For
those of you who would like to share your GNC needs over the
phone and pray or need a partner or two for a prayer walk,
call the Dillanes at 760-489-5811. We will keep you posted
on the positive outcomes as a result of your help in the survey
responses.
