PRAISE REPORTS

PRAISE the Lord for an unprecedented whirlwind approval for our new Good News Club on Camp Pendleton! The school principal is so eager to have the club on campus that she expedited approval from the district, photocopied our flyers herself at the school office (see sample above), and sent them out in the kids' backpacks this past Friday! Because of a half-hour difference in the dismissal times for different grades, we're having the club for grades 4-6, but the principal is hoping we can have TWO clubs next season, one for the lower grades as well. The team is getting ready to start on January 30, bringing the number of clubs that open this month to ELEVEN!
 

 
 


PRAISE God for the 103 girls and boys who lined up, permission slips in hand, to sign in to our first day of Good News Club at Glen View School in Escondido on Thursday (photos above). We were back after a three-year hiatus, and a number of kids who were there way back then came up with big smiles to greet volunteers they still remembered! There were so many kids that the school immediately assigned us to a bigger room for next week. Even though there wasn't much wiggle room in the crowded space, the kids really paid attention and responded during the Bible story and Gospel message from God's Word. Praise God for the faithful volunteers who were there, and please pray for the additional helpers that are urgently needed to meet the needs of such a big group of kids.
 
PRAISE the Lord for His abundant blessing at our four other GNCs that started this week! There were:
100+ kids at Lincoln School (please pray for more helpers!),
55 kids at our new club at L.R. Green,
72 kids at Reidy Creek.

PRAISE the Lord that an Escondido church has a team assembled to reach the kids at nearby Knob Hill School in San Marcos, a school that has never had a GNC. Please be in prayer for the leader and volunteers as a day of the week is decided on and as we get ready to submit the application for use of facilities.

PRAYER NEEDS

PRAY for FOUR Good News Clubs starting this week. For all of the clubs, please pray for a great turnout the first day and that the Lord would help the team members in their final preparations. Pray for the peace and power of the Holy Spirit in the lives of each volunteer as they get ready to reach the children in the Lord's name. And please pray for their special needs:
 
1. Ada Harris (Cardiff), starting Jan 20. Please pray that lots of kids from last season will be back with friends in tow. Pray for the health of our team members.
 
2. Del Dios (Escondido), starting Jan 20. This is our first middle school club. Please say a special prayer as we launch out into new territory for the Lord!
 
3. Bonsall Elementary (Bonsall), starting Jan 22. Pray for this brand-new team and for the logistics of the first day as the club meets in the community center adjacent to the school.
 
4. Solana Highlands (Solana Beach), starting Jan 23. Pray that many kids at this school who have never been to GNC will come this season.
  


PRAY for Ramona Elementary School (photo above). On Saturday we met for a prayer walk around the campus, beseeching the Lord for the kids, families, and staff. One of our GNC volunteers who works at the school is seeking God's guidance in putting a team together to reach the kids at this school of over 600 students, as well as James Dukes, where we've had a GNC in the past. Join her in asking that the Lord would bring a GNC to every elementary school in Ramona. Pray that He would place a call on believers in this community to reach the kids for Him.
