PRAISE REPORTS
PRAISE God for His grace on the first day of GNC in Cardiff on Tuesday! Team leader Ramona Borders reports: "It was a very good start for our Good News Club at Ada Harris School today. We had 21 children attending and some that we had to tell to come back next week because they did not have a permission slip. What a surprise! We had not expected that many children, as we had less in prior years. And five children accepted Jesus as their Savior. Remember the two boys that I told you about? -- last year they were being pressured to join a gang. One of the boys returned and brought his younger sister -- and they both accepted the Lord. I had to call his mother on the phone as he did not have his permission slip. She commented to me that she certainly appreciated what we were doing. And she ended the conversation with 'God bless you'. We were all excited and it was a great day."
PRAISE the Lord for all His blessings at the opening of our first Good News Club in the Bonsall district at Bonsall Elementary School on Thursday (photos above). The Lord brought 50 boys and girls together, ready to hear the Good News, and brought a dedicated volunteer team together, ready to share it! In the top photo Jack McKee leads the kids in singing Children All Around the World with the words, "They need to hear that Jesus died and lives to set them free." Jack went on to share that message from the Bible and counseled with those who responded. He writes, "21 kids prayed to receive Christ. Praise the Lord!" Standing at left is Holly Williams, team leader at the Farr Avenue School GNC in Escondido who volunteered to drive up to Bonsall to lend her encouragement, support, and experience to the brand-new team on their first day. In the bottom photo team leader Connie Gordon shows the kids how they can collect the memory verses they learn each week in an album. Writes Connie: "Praise God for His hand over us for our first meeting last week. God knew just how many kids we could handle -- isn't He wonderful!"

PRAISE the Lord for what
He's doing at our newly-started GNCs! At Reidy Creek School in
Escondido (photo above), where 72 kids came the first day,
volunteer Nancee Hanson teaches from the Word of God. Team leader
Judy Erickson emails: "Praise the Lord for His new club! God
is so good."
At L.R. Green School in Escondido (photo below) the volunteer
team is big enough that the kids can be divided into small groups
by age level for more personalized teaching. Leader Teri Chalfant
reports: "We had a great first day club meeting. We had 55
students attend, 20 of them second graders. 12 students stood,
wanting to ask Jesus into their hearts."

PRAYER
NEEDS
PRAY for our first middle school "Teen
GNC" club that started on Tuesday at Del Dios. The turnout
was very disappointing, and we are seeking God's guidance
about what to do. Please pray that the Lord would
give us ideas and His wisdom about how to draw this
difficult age group to a Bible club and how to best reach them
with His love and truth.
PRAY for the Mary Fay Pendleton School GNC, scheduled to start this Friday, Jan 30. The principal called to say that signed permission forms began coming in from parents as soon as the flyers went home. She was also excited that her own grandson had come home with a flyer from his school, Bonsall Elementary (see Praise Report above), and that she had told him to be there! Please pray that everything would come together for the new volunteer team and that the Lord would bring many children to the club from this environment that puts special stresses on the kids. Pray that God would use the club to build the volunteers in their faith and reliance on Him and to bring many young lives into His kingdom.
PRAY for our longest-running school club in Escondido, Oak Hill, as it gears up to start again Tuesday, Feb 3. This has always been a well-attended club that is blessed to be able to meet in the large multi-purpose room. Pray that the Lord would again draw lots of kids to hear and learn from His Word. Pray that those from last year would come back and that kids who've never heard the gospel will begin attending. Pray for the reorganized team as they get ready. Pray that the light of God's truth would continue to shine bright and strong in this corner of Escondido.
In the fellowship of our Lord,
Robert Burkley

..."Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them. --Mark 10:14-16
