PRAISE
REPORTS
![]()
PRAISE God for a group of seven mothers from Hope
Elementary School in Carlsbad who are getting ready to start
a Good News Club there. This will be our first club in several
years that is actually part of the Carlsbad school district. Hope
has about 400 students in grades 1-5. (Click here to find out
more about the school.) Please pray for a quick approval process
so that the club can get underway by the planned mid-March start
date. Pray that many on this new team would be able to be at one
of our next Teachers Forum sessions (March 7 and 9) as they
prepare to start the club off with teaching from the book of
Daniel (click for details: http://cefkids.com/TeachersForum).
PRAISE the Lord for those who have been faithful in
spreading the word about the opportunity the Lord has given to
reach kids at public schools in His name. Dee Abell, one of our
GNC volunteers, has been sending our informational email to
friends and members of her church. Recently she got this
response:
"This is SO VERY exciting...I have been waiting for what the
Lord wants me to do with my time. Praise the Lord for answering
my prayers on how to serve Him. This is GREAT!"
Dee writes: "I am glad I had this put on the prayer
chain!...I have kept this email and will circulate it with a
personal letter attached to tell everyone about it again. Someone
just may be praying for what God has directed and this is just
right for them."
Please help spread the word!
Just copy and paste the link below into emails and send them out to everyone you know. Even if some can't be part of a Good News Club team, they may know others who can. And everyone can be praying for the kids! And remember, GNCs are happening all over the country, so spread the word far and wide!

PRAISE the Lord for drawing kids to
Himself! Team member Christine Vanderpool emails this report for
January from the Mission Estancia Good News Club in the
Encinitas district: "We are averaging 60-65 kids per week.
Praise God!"
PRAISE God for a report phoned in from team leader Connie
Gordon at our new GNC at Bonsall Elementary: The
second-week attendance jumped from 50 to 75 kids!
PRAISE the Lord for all He is doing at our new GNC at LR
Green School in Escondido. Christina Dillane emails:
"God gave us a good club at LR Green, molding the team into
the unity of the Spirit...Our Bible teacher is teaching twice,
once for primaries and once for juniors. She had 6 children
respond to the invitation yesterday. Praise God and pray for
their
growth and transformation."
PRAYER
NEEDS
![]()
PRAY with our team at the Reidy Creek School GNC
(photo above) for a little girl from a Buddhist family who has
been attending. Please pray for her and the other kids at our
GNCs who come from non-Christian backgrounds and to whom the
Bible and everything Christian is completely new. Please pray
that the Holy Spirit would open their hearts and minds to the
truth of the Gospel and help them to see their need to respond in
faith. The team also requests prayer that the older kids would
attend in greater numbers. Please pray that all our clubs would
be able to draw and retain the older kids at each school.

PRAY for a brand new team of Good News Club volunteers
from Gateway Community Church in Escondido as they prepare to
reach the kids at Knob Hill School in San Marcos (photo
above). The application has been submitted for a start date of
February 17. Please pray for a favorable response from the
administration and that the club would be assigned a spacious
room. Please pray for God's strength and wisdom for the team as
they pray, plan, and organize.
PRAY that our big and understaffed GNC at Lincoln
School in Escondido would be able to find the additional
permanent team members they need. (If you are free on Thursdays
from 1:30-2:45, please call 760-480-4191.) Volunteer Paulette
Oberle emails: "When we started a couple weeks ago it was
overwhelming. We prayed that the Lord would give us a plan. In a
few days Maud suggested we divide the hour into 4 segments and
rotate groups of kids at 15 minute intervals. Rain was predicted
the following week which would mean our two planned outside
stations would not work...we prayed that there would not be rain
at our meeting time. The Lord answered, as there was only a
slight sprinkling. Also we had two volunteers for the day to
help. Everything went so smoothly and the kids were very
cooperative. We do have one of the mothers who stays to help
where needed and another mother this week said she might be able
to stay to help. So far the Lord has been providing on a
week-to-week basis. We have continued to get new kids each week.
We are much encouraged and continue to trust the Lord."
PRAY that our application for a new GNC at Rock Springs
School in Escondido would be approved quickly for a start
date of Feb 26. Praise the Lord for a father at the school who
wants to be on the team. Please pray that his place of employment
will allow him to rearrange his schedule so as to be free on
Thursday afternoons.
PRAY that our GNC at Palmquist School in Oceanside
will be able to continue. The team leader and her family find it
necessary to move back to Orange County on short notice. Pray
that the Lord will bring a complete team together.
In the fellowship of our Lord,
Robert Burkley

..."Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them. --Mark 10:14-16
