PRAISE REPORTS

PRAISE God for His blessings at our "Good News Club for
Neighbors" held at Redwood Terrace Retirement Community
in Escondido. In the photo above the kids and seniors are making
"Haman's Hat" cookies on Tuesday as they learn about
God's providence in the lives of His people from the book of
Esther. Team leader Christina Dillane reports: "The chaplain
visited and loved it so much he arranged his schedule to be
changed so that he could be one of our adults mentoring the kids.
It's great to hear him talking with the boys during discussion
and application time. I'm so blessed to watch what God is
doing."
Christina sends more good news from the LR Green School
club where she also serves: "Our junior group, 3rd-5th
grades, is holding strong and growing with some new first-timers.
One 4th grader from a Buddhist home was able to hear the Gospel
for the first time yesterday when his friend invited him to GNC.
We praise God for the support of many parents even in the midst
of those who don't understand how in this world we can be on a
public school campus and are unhappy about it. God reigns. We
desire to be a blessing to all."
PRAISE the Lord for our first meeting of the season of the
Reynolds School GNC in Oceanside on Friday. Team leader
Bohdana Bruccoleri emails: "The club went very well! We had approximately
40 children attend! The children were very enthusiastic about the
club. It truly is a privilege to serve the Lord doing the Good
News Club. The need to have and do clubs is amazing. The fields
are plentiful with souls. I met with some of the parents after
the club and they were very supportive. As for prayer requests:
Pray that we as workers would have a pure heart, and that our
relationship with the Lord would be close. Also pray that as club
workers we would be of one accord. Thank you so much for setting
up the clubs and being involved with such a WON-DER-FUL
ministry!"

PRAISE the Lord for what kids are learning from His Word at
GNCs. The big Glen View club in Escondido started off with
a fun game called "Act It Out" on Thursday (photo
above), and later in the hour it was the girls v. the boys in a
review game of the Bible lesson about Naboth's vineyard from 1
Kings 21. Called "Give & Take", it helped to
reinforce the main point of the lesson: Be content with what God
has given you. After a correct
answer, a colored square selected from the board decided if that
team got to "take" the points they earned or had to
"give" them to the other team! Our memory verse was
Hebrews 13:5: ...be content with such things as you have. For
He Himself has said, "I will never leave you..."
PRAISE the Lord that our new GNC at Willow Grove
School in the Poway district is all approved and scheduled to
start March 3. The principal has already moved the club from the
classroom we applied for to a bigger "learning hall".
Dee Abell is the team leader, and she has been actively seeking
committed fellow workers. One way has been to send out
informational emails to those she thinks might be interested. We
reported last week on an enthusiastic response she got, and this
week she writes: "I just put out another email for volunteer
help and got one more. I now have 4 willing to teach and 1
willing to help. Keep us in prayer!"

PRAISE God for answered prayer! Last
week we requested prayer for a quick approval for our new club at
Knob Hill School in San Marcos (photo below) and for a
spacious room. On Thursday we received approval of the flyers and
on Friday approval for use of the big multi-purpose room.
PRAYER
NEEDS
![]()
PRAY for our planned club at Rock Springs School in
Escondido (photo above). Our application has been approved to
start the last week in February, but the multi-purpose room is
not available on the day we applied for, Thursdays. Please pray
that all the volunteers would be able to rearrange their
schedules for another day, probably Friday, instead. And please
pray for at least two additional members needed on the team.
PRAY as our GNC at El Camino Creek School in the
Encinitas district gears up for its second session, Feb 20-Mar
27. Pray that parents and kids will respond as word goes out in
the school bulletin and by "viral" email messages sent
out by the GNC team (this is a school that no longer distributes
paper flyers). Team leader Lynda Wennerstrom requests prayer for
additional volunteers needed to take the place of several who
can't continue.
PRAY that the many new believers in our clubs will get off
to a good start in their Christian lives! Our volunteers have
expressed their desire to find ways to keep them growing, and are
enrolling them in the CEF Mailbox Club (http://cefkids.com/MailboxClub), giving them Bibles in book form or on CD-ROM (http://cefkids.com/biblecd1), and giving them Wonder Devotional Books (http://cefkids.com/wdb) to help them establish a daily time with the Lord.
Please pray for these newborns in the faith and ask the Lord to
help them get solidly grounded in Him.
In the fellowship of our Lord,
Robert Burkley

..."Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them. --Mark 10:14-16
