PRAISE REPORTS

PRAISE
God
for our new Good News Club at Temple Heights School in Oceanside! It's conducted by volunteers from Calvary Chapel Vista. When their church found out this fall about the opportunity to reach kids in the local schools, they jumped on board! The club gets to meet in the school library, and in the photo above they're joining in on our club theme song, Good News to All the World.

Each week the kids line up to sign in and say the memory verse they've practiced from the week before (above). Below, the teacher gets lots of help holding up this week's Scripture memory verse in giant letters for everyone to see and learn. It's Psalm 50:15, "Call upon me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me." Pastor Sam Cracchiolo files this report: "It has been so much fun for our team. We have just completed four weeks of the Good News Club and God is doing an amazing work. Last week we had 8 new children show up and we are seeing 5-8 new children each week receiving the Lord."

PRAISE
the Lord for some exciting and encouraging news from Nancee Hanson, one of our volunteers at the Reidy Creek School GNC: "Yesterday there were baptisms during our church services. At the second service a 10-year-old boy was baptized. When he was asked when he first accepted Jesus, he said it was at the Good News Club at his school, North Broadway, last year. Praise God!" One of CEF's purposes in ministry is to see kids who come to faith established and growing in sound local churches. Praise the Lord for His continuing work in the lives of His children!

PRAISE God for the invitation and opportunity to share Good News Clubs in the schools at the annual missions dinner at Carlsbad Community Church on Friday (photos above and below). Our literature table was one of many that represented gospel ministries from around the world. CCC has been a faithful longtime supporter of CEF in North County and many from the church have served as Good News Club volunteers.

PRAISE the Lord for answered prayer! We asked you to pray for more helpers needed at one of our clubs, and volunteer Paulette Oberle emails: "We had heard that the Lincoln School GNC was going to be on a list of needs at Emmanuel Faith Church. We had only a little faith that anyone would volunteer. However, two volunteers contacted our club and came to help today. As a bonus Colleen Medin, a GNC leader from Poway, also showed up to lend a hand and her support. God has shown us in a wonderful way that He is faithful, He will provide, and that GNC is His work."

And in answer to one of last week's prayer needs, our planned club at Rock Springs School in Escondido has been rescheduled for Fridays and will be able to meet in the big multi-purpose room starting Feb 27.

PRAYER NEEDS

PRAY with a grandfather from Rancho Cucamonga who is concerned about his grandsons in Ramona and contacted our chapter to ask: "Do you think you could find someone to start the CEF club in the Jr High (Olive Peirce) and Hansen Elementary? My grandsons attend there. After seeing a CEF clip at church yesterday I thought it would be nice to see something like that at their schools. I live 100 miles away or I would do it myself." Please pray for all the kids in Ramona and throughout North County who are still waiting for a Good News Club to come to their school. Pray for the "someones" who are so urgently needed to start and staff these clubs. Ask the Lord to speak to the hearts of His children who are able to serve. When we told this grandfather about the need for volunteers he volunteered to contact churches in Ramona to ask them to help. Please join with him and help to get the word out! One way is by sending the clickable icon below. Just copy and paste it into emails to pastors, friends, family, and acquaintances:

PRAY with Judy Erickson, our GNC leader at Reidy Creek. She also serves on the team at Glen View School and is asking the Lord to supply the additional volunteers needed to be able to extend that club until the end of the school year at a school with a big need. Please pray for God's guidance and provision in building a solid team.

In the fellowship of our Lord,
Robert Burkley

..."Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them.   --Mark 10:14-16
