PRAISE the Lord for a joyful group of enthusiastic Good News Club volunteers (plus two more who missed the photo op) at our last coastal Teachers Forum session of the season on Monday in Carlsbad (photo above). It was a lively time of interaction around our lesson series on the book of Daniel. Clubs from Bonsall, Cardiff, Carlsbad, Escondido, and Oceanside were represented.

PRAISE
God for the Mailbox Club report for our chapter sent this week
from CEF headquarters. Since the beginning of 2008 twenty-six boys and girls in North County have reported receiving Christ as Savior while doing their free Bible lessons by mail! Children are enrolled through Good News Clubs, 5-Day Clubs, fair outreaches, by churches in their kids' ministries, and by individuals. The free courses are available for six different age levels, including adults!

Completed lessons by the tens of thousands are mailed from across the country to CEF's big Mailbox Club center near St Louis (photo above) where dedicated volunteers correct them, write encouraging notes to the kids, pray for their needs, and mail out the next lessons in the series. Do you know kids who'd like to enroll? Do it online or download forms here: http://cefkids.com/MailboxClub

PRAISE the Lord for an encouraging report about how He has been working in kids' lives through GNC teachers using CEF materials in their own churches. One of our club leaders emails: "This is from a mom in our church who was just appointed Children's Ministry Leader. I just wanted to share her praise on her son's getting the message from our CEF curriculum. What a blessing!:

'I have to tell you that last week's lesson was so fabulous. My son was helping around the house all week. He made his bed every morning and did extra chores every day, without even being asked! You really got through to the kids! Thank you!'"

PRAISE God for thankful hearts. Maud Middleton, who leads our GNC at Lincoln School in Escondido, writes: "Thank you all for praying for our club! Our faithful and wonderful Lord answered our prayers beyond our expectations! Our Elijah lesson about God taking care of us was just the perfect one for the day. We finally got to use the second room this week with our 3-5 graders in the new room and our younger K-2 graders staying in our first room. Everything went smoothly and the kids were paying more attention, getting excited to say their verses, and enjoying our big beautiful room."

PRAISE
the Lord for graciously answering our requests from last week's Bulletin for the Laurel School GNC in Oceanside! The application was approved by the principal this week and the district approved the flyers for distribution to students. Also, the volunteer team is able to gather this Monday for an orientation and training session to get ready for the starting date of March 31.

PRAISE
God
for good news from Christina Dillane, leader of our Redwood Terrace Retirement Community club: "Purim happened to come in perfect timing with our completing the lessons on the book of Esther. As believers we have so much more reason to celebrate, being delivered from the sentence of eternal death. So we celebrated in our 'GNC for Neighbors' and with the volunteers. The review of the Biblical account was included and typical foods were shared (photo above).

"One of the traditions is to give gifts to others out of thankful hearts. So we brought fruit baskets to some of the GNC families. We thanked the parents for allowing us to teach their children and noted how they are growing. One of these children became a part of God's eternal family this week. Yesterday, after the fruit basket was delivered, a Bible was received for the first time by the parent. Praise God for how He is using the GNC to allow us to reach out to our community and bring the children into the Shepherd's fold!"

PRAYER NEEDS

PRAY
for our GNC planned for James Dukes School in Ramona (photo above). The team leader had reached the point of thinking the club wasn't going to happen this year, but the Lord encouraged her to move forward! This week the application was submitted for a start date of April 22. Please pray for the full team of volunteers needed to bring God's Word to the kids at our only club in Ramona, now in its 5th season.

PRAY for the GNC-in-progress at Pioneer School in Escondido (photo above). Please pray as we await the principal's approval to start May 1 and go through the first week in June. Pray for an adequate space for the club. Pray for the 800 kids who attend this big school!

PRAY
for our new "Teen Good News Club" starting March 17 at Bear Valley Middle School in Escondido (photo above).
Pastor Eric Maggio, team leader, emails: "We are gearing up to start this Tuesday. My youth have been inviting their friends to the club so hopefully we should have some turnout.
" The principal has given approval to pass out flyers on site at the end of school on Monday. Please pray for enough volunteers to be able to "blitz" the kids with announcements in the few minutes it takes for them to leave the campus. Pray that the Lord would draw lots of kids to the club. Pray for the brand new team as they work together to reach the middle schoolers for the Lord! And if you know of kids who attend the school, please pass on these links to the flyers:

..."Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them.   --Mark 10:14-16
