PRAISE the Lord for new Good News Club teams! On Wednesday we held a training/orientation meeting for volunteers from two new startup clubs. Above from left are Lisa Havre and her mom Cindy, Debbie Christian, and Maureen and David Slottje, all on the team for Mission Meadows School in the Vista district. At right is Margot Holman, on the team for Live Oak School in Fallbrook. Both teams are getting ready to teach from the book of Daniel. (Please be in prayer that our application at Live Oak will receive approval this week.)

PRAISE God that after a mix-up by the school district we finally received approval for our flyers for the Good News Club starting this Wednesday at James Dukes School in Ramona. Team leader Cathy Goldstein emails: "The flyers have been copied and distributed to the teachers at James Dukes. Hopefully they'll get them handed out ASAP. I'm excited about getting started next week." Please pray for a big response.

PRAISE the Lord for a believer in Ramona who emailed to say she is interested in volunteering for a new Good News Club at Ramona Community School this coming school year. (Please pray that the Lord will bring a complete team together to reach this school that has never had a GNC!)  

PRAYER NEEDS



PRAY for CEF's upcoming annual Gospel outreach to kids at the San Diego County Fair, June 12-July 5 in Del Mar (photo above). We, in partnership with our sister chapter, CEF of Greater San Diego, need 176 volunteers to staff the ministry over the 22 days the fair is open! Please consider joining a team for a 4 hour shift to bring the message of salvation to kids and parents alike (last year we reached 2,458 kids and 1,256 adults, with 645 professions of faith). PRAY for our summer 5-Day Club ministry that brings the Gospel to kids right in their own neighborhoods in parks, rec centers, and backyards (photo above). This year's lessons are called "The Wordless Book Visualized" and explain the message of salvation step-by-step through colors. CEF volunteer Linda Gonzalez is looking for helpers to hold a club at an Oceanside park again this summer as she has for the past few years. If you'd like to help with Linda's club or find out about putting on one of your own, please call 760-480-4191.



PRAY that North County Christian teens would consider serving the Lord this summer through the 5-Day Club ministry. Our CYIA (Christian Youth in Action) training program will be held June 20-26 in Riverside. This is often a life-changing experience for Christian young people as they seek God's direction for the future and their place in His service. Find out more here: http://cefkids.com/cyia

PRAY for our three new Good News Clubs all starting this Wednesday, April 22:

Stone Ranch School (Poway district) 12:40-1:40pm

James Dukes School (Ramona) 1:00-2:00pm

Mission Meadows School (Vista district) 2:00-3:00pm

Please be in prayer for each team as they make final preparations. Try to take time to pray at the times these clubs are meeting. Pray for the Lord's peace and that all would go smoothly on the hectic first day. Pray that the Lord would bring many girls and boys to hear and respond to His word. Pray that kids who have never before heard the Good News will understand and believe in Jesus!

PRAY as flyers go out at three schools announcing the start of GNC. At Beaumont School in Vista announcements were sent home this past week. At Pioneer School in Escondido, flyers will go to the school on Monday. And at Discovery School in San Marcos we're still waiting for a room assignment and final starting time before the flyers can be printed. Please pray that these issues will be resolved early this week. And pray that at each of these schools the announcements will make it home and be read by parents. Pray that many, many parents will sign up their kids!
