PRAISE REPORTS



PRAISE the Lord for all our new North County volunteers this year at the San Diego County Fair gospel outreach! On Friday, opening day at the fair, Tom and Penny Anderson (above, left) teamed up on the first shift with Elize Saaiman (at right), who served this season at our LR Green School Good News Club.
Taking over for them in the afternoon were Inga Hughes and her son Timothy (center). Inga was part of the team at our new GNC at Stone Ranch School.

Orientation classes helped our volunteers get ready to reach the kids at the fair. Above, 40 gathered at our Escondido class last Tuesday evening and took some time to meet someone new and pray together for each other, for the needs of the ministry, and for the kids and parents at the fair.

Above, Elize Saaiman explains that everlasting life is a gift from God that is ours by faith in Jesus. The gospel is explained through the five colors of the Wordless Book using flashcard visuals.

First-time volunteer Julia Yang gets ready for her spot at the fair on Sunday, dressed as Ruth from the Bible. Her costume includes all the colors of the Wordless Book. Each child receives a bracelet with the colors.

PRAISE the Lord for thankful reports that keep coming in from our Good News Clubs!

From Olivenhain Pioneer School (Encinitas district), team member Sabrina Oordt emails: "We have been blessed with a consistent number of kids that attend each week. And many praises from parents about how much the kids like it." Above, Youth Pastor Zack Beck teaches the kids. Below, a special concert on June 12, the last day of club.

From Mission Meadows School (Vista), team leader Maureen Slottje writes: "We finished our last club and all agreed it was a great experience. There seems strong interest on the leaders' part in continuing it next year. Our church is having a missions night and we have been invited to have a table to present CEF... I am inviting the whole leadership team, including Live Oak School in Fallbrook, to participate."

Bible teacher Jeanelle Higgins sends these photos she snapped at Mission Meadows, including one of Maureen teaching the Scripture verse, above. Below, Cindy Havre and Maureen lead the group in some fun games.

From  Laurel School (Oceanside) team leader Pastor Michael Henderson writes: "Thank you very much for allowing us the privilege of sharing the gospel with the kids at Laurel Elementary. Our lives have been tremendously enriched!  We look forward to the upcoming school year."



From Bear Valley Middle School (Escondido) team leader Pastor Eric Maggio emails: "We really enjoyed working with CEF on this outreach. We have confirmation from the teacher that we are welcome to use his classroom next year, so I told him that the first or second week of school we will be there!"

PRAYER NEEDS

PRAY that the Lord will guide our planning over the summer months as we prepare for the new season of Good News Clubs. Please ask Him to help us get the word out to churches and believers who still are unaware of the opportunity to reach the kids in the public schools. Pray that He will connect those who have an interest in reaching particular schools and that He will bring teams together!

PRAY for our volunteers at the SD County Fair each day. Please ask the Lord to keep them safe as they travel to and from the fair and to help them get there in plenty of time. Pray that His Spirit would empower and speak through them as they present the truth from God's Word. Pray that the Lord would bring blessing to their lives as they serve as His witnesses.

PRAY as preparations continue for a 5-Day Club outreach to be held the last week in June at Landes Park in Oceanside. Pray for team leader Linda Gonzalez as she helps her team, some of whom are brand new to this ministry, to plan and organize. Please pray that the Lord would use the flyers that have been distributed by the school to all the students at nearby Casita School to bring lots of neighborhood kids to hear the Good News of Jesus!
