PRAISE
REPORTS
![]()
PRAISE the Lord for all the kids and families that were
reached in our second full week at the County Fair -- and for all
His faithful servants who were a part of it! Above, everybody
wants a souvenir picture in front of the Story Castle!
On Tuesday morning, three North County volunteers were first up
on the schedule -- Barbara Hood, Janie Laetare, and Nancy Trout.
Janie, who was back for her second season, says: "It was a
wonderful experience! Yes, I have a praise report -- we had 49
children and 27 adults come into the castle."
Nancy, who served this season on our Good News Club team at LR
Green School in Escondido, emails: "Tuesday morning at the
fair was such a great experience. There were three of us that God
just blessed by being used by Him! It was a little scary at
first, but God just takes over, and He brought in the children
and gave us the words! Yay!!! We had 12 children make a
commitment to the Lord in prayer. Wow! One group that came in was
a Christian choir, and after they heard the story, they sang and
danced one of their songs for us. (That castle has pretty good
acoustics!) I am so glad I was part of this. Blessings were: new
friends, working for the Lord, and meeting children and adults
that havent heard the message of salvation. Yes, they are
out there! I signed up again to work July 4th with my husband
Terry. I came home so excited, he volunteered to work with
me!"

That afternoon three volunteers from the Lincoln School Good
News Club in Escondido came on duty, Maud Middleton, Paulette
Oberle, and Cathy Poirier, who, Paulette reports, used real
teamwork: "Maud, Cathy, and I took turns giving the
lesson." Above, it's Maud explaining how God wants His
children to grow to be more like Jesus every day.

Parents often congregate outside with their
younger kids while the older ones are inside hearing the Good
News. There are enough chairs in the castle for six tired parents
to take a rest!

On Thursday afternoon Sherrie Frazier from
Valley Center, who has served for years on both GNC teams and at
the fair, brought two first-timers with her, daughter Cathy
Galloway and daughter-in-law Jenn Frazier. Above, Jenn tells the
kids all about Jesus.

On Friday Kevin and Lillian Armentano (above,
left) from Escondido were on the second shift, taking over from
Kim Case and her daughter Alex from RP (above, right). Kim has
been serving on our Good News Club team at Los Penasquitos
School, from which Alex just graduated this year.
It was the Armentanos' first time at the fair. As a kindergarten
teacher at Laurel School in Oceanside Lillian saw how excited her
students were to attend our new Good News Club that started there
this season, and she wanted to get involved in CEF outreach, too!

Kevin, who has lots of experience from his church's kids'
ministry, served as "barker" in front of the booth,
inviting kids and parents inside while Lillian (above) was
sharing the message, trading off with Christina Chan (below).
Christina has been serving on the Los Penasquitos GNC team for
several years, and has been to the fair many times. She's showing
the kids the bracelet they will receive when they leave, and
telling them that the first bead is all about God and His love
for them.

PRAYER
NEEDS
![]()
PRAY for our first 5-Day Club of the summer starting
Monday, June 29 at Landes Park in Oceanside (photo above). Praise
the Lord for bringing several brand new volunteers to join the
team! Please pray for leader Linda Gonzalez as she coordinates
the group and assigns tasks, and for all the team members as they
do their parts to bring God's Word to the kids. Pray for good
weather. Pray that the 46 children who signed up at nearby Casita
School before summer vacation started will remember to be there,
and that they'll bring friends from the surrounding neighborhood.
Pray that God will bless the team for their readiness to "go
into all the world" and take the Good News right to the kids
where they live. Pray that the Lord will make hearts responsive
to His truth, and that many children will become children of God
this week!

PRAY as plans go forward for a Good News Club at Richland
School in San Marcos (above). We had a club there two seasons
ago, but not enough team members for one last school year. Praise
God for a new volunteer, and please keep praying that the Lord
will bring at least two more helpers for this fall. Pray for
leader Marian Kisling as she works to get things up and running.

PRAY as Tamara Reed, a parent at the school, takes on the
leadership role at our Good News Club at Mission Estancia in the
Encinitas district. Please pray for the additional team members
needed to keep this big club going and for the Lord's guidance in
planning for the new season. Pray that our application submitted
this week will gain quick approval.
PRAY for volunteers needed at the two Escondido Good News
Clubs led by Judy Erickson, Reidy Creek and Glen View. Judy will
also be helping once a month at the club at her grandkids' school
in Temecula, so Bible teachers are needed to share that task with
Judy.
In the
fellowship of our Lord,
Robert Burkley

..."Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them. --Mark 10:14-16
