PRAISE REPORTS

PRAISE
God for a wonderful report about the 5-Day Club held this week at Landes Park in Oceanside. In the photo above team leader Linda Gonzalez leads the group in a song. There were 54 kids (above and beyond what was hoped for!) the first day, and attendance held steady over the week. By midweek 15 boys and girls had professed faith in Christ. Watch for more details coming next week.

PRAISE the Lord for a family (above) who stopped by the Story Castle at the County Fair on July 1. They visit us whenever they come to the fair because, as dad Matt let us know, eldest daughter Zoe (at right) came to know the Lord at our booth 7 years ago and has been growing in her faith ever since!

Robin Zook of Bonsall (above), who was telling the story that day, writes, "The family came in and said, 'This is the best part of the whole fair.' At the end of the story the father asked if they could pray for ME and I said to pray for the kids at the fair to come to know Jesus. The son prayed and he was only about 6 years old. What a blessing to hear the heart of a saved child for other children
!"

PRAISE God for another whole week bursting with blessings at the fair:

Jenn Frazier of Valley Center (above, center) sends this photo and a note: "I had a wonderful time working at the fair last week. It was such a rewarding experience for me." Sister-in-law Cathy Galloway (at left) and mother-in-law Sherrie Frazier were her teammates.

Jacque Swaney of Oceanside, a first-timer, emails: "As I went outside the castle to look for kids to invite in for the Bible story, I noticed a couple standing near the door looking in. I asked them if they would like to come in and hear the story. The man said, 'No, I just wanted to show my wife where I accepted the Lord many years ago at the age of five!' He said the booth was in the main hall at that time. He thought the new castle near the rides was wonderful. I was very excited and thanked him for stopping and encouraging all of us.
"

Last Sunday Terri and Tony Nagem of Ramona came with kids Nick and Alexis to serve as a team in the afternoon. Terri has volunteered at the Good News Club at James Dukes School, but none had ever been at the Story Castle before. Writes Terri: "It was such a blessing to be able to share the gospel at the fair. We were kept busy with children and their parents coming in to rest and listen to the gospel. I was happy that we were able to meet a lot of brothers and sisters in Christ, but especially excited to be able to lead some children to Christ and to help some rededicate their lives."

On Tuesday fair veterans Bertha Sarabia of Cardiff and Marian Kisling of Oceanside (above) were partners on the first shift. Marian reports, "God is so faithful -- two boys 11 years old wanted to hear the Bible story so bad they talked their aunt into letting them go into the castle. They had some knowledge of the Bible, and prayed to receive Jesus."

In the afternoon returning volunteers Jim and Jing Sharratt from Rancho Penasquitos (above, left and right) came on duty, joined by Valerie Batroff. Jing writes, "Jim & I had a wonderful time working at the fair. During our shift, 48 kids and 30 adults heard and 13 responded. The kids were wonderful!  Some of the kids that came by were already Christians, and they helped by answering our questions and adding some comments. I think their participation helped the non-Christian kids to pay more attention. One girl told me when I talked about heaven that her doggy is in heaven now while two kids said their grandma is in heaven. How precious are these little ones! It was a great privilege for us to be involved in sharing the Good News with them."

Larry and Jody Klassen of San Marcos (above) were there on Tuesday evening. They've been at the fair many times and also serve on the CEF North County committee, Larry as chairman and Jody as secretary.

On Wednesday Robin Zook and her daughter Emily were joined by first-timer Debbie Christian of Carlsbad. Debbie (below), who was part of our new Good News Club at Mission Meadows School in Vista this season, writes, "A young mother of a little six-year-old believer commented to me after the presentation, 'I can really feel that the Holy Spirit is in this place.'"

Joanne Sigurdsson (above), leader of our GNC at North Broadway School in Escondido, returned to the fair on Wednesday afternoon. She's telling the kids all about the "Bible Adventures" CD they'll receive to help them learn more about Jesus.

On Friday the first team of the day included newcomer Ken Cozzens (above left) and veteran John Nash (right), there for his 3rd assignment this year, as were Inga and Timothy Hughes (center). Timothy was one of several young believers this year who shared their faith in Christ with the kids (below).

PRAYER NEEDS

PRAY
for a 5-Day Club in the planning stages for August to be held at an apartment complex in Carlsbad. Please pray for the Lord's step-by-step guidance and provision for leader La Keisha Fairbee and the team.

PRAY that we would be able to get approval for use of the multi-purpose room or another big space for the Richland School Good News Club that is being planned for this fall in San Marcos.

In the fellowship of our Lord,
Robert Burkley

..."Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them.   --Mark 10:14-16
