PRAISE
REPORTS
![]()
PRAISE God for the final report from
the County Fair outreach. The photo above from Friday, July 3
shows the big crowds at the start of the holiday weekend finale.
Over the total 22 days of the fair we were able to reach 2,262
boys and girls and 1,464 adults with the Gospel! Of those, 671
kids and 12 adults made professions of their faith in Christ.
This season we had a record 76 volunteers from North County, 47
of whom were first-timers, and praise reports keep coming in:
Janie Laetare: "I will always have the feeling of God's
presence in my heart for the blessings I had..."
Gwen Mecklenburg: "It was our pleasure and privilege to
volunteer at the Story Castle. May God continue to abundantly
bless CEF, opening many doors and enabling the gospel to be
widely shared."
Nanette Frank: "I really loved it....Keep me on the list for
next year."
Kathy Romig: "It is just so great how many clubs are now in
North Co. It's so neat to be able to be a small part of it
all."
Christina Chan: "It's my privilege to serve the Lord through
a ministry like CEF."
Dave & Maureen Slottje: "We thank the Lord for His
grace!"

PRAISE the Lord for more good news from the 5-Day Club at
Landes Park in Oceanside which ended on July 3. Above, some of
the 76 children who enrolled are having lots of fun in the sun
with a water balloon pitching contest.

Above, new volunteer LeeAnn Gilman teaches the Bible lesson
to the older kids, and below, team leader Linda Gonzalez talks to
a big group of younger kids and quite a few mothers who attended.
The Lord provided enough helpers so that the kids could be
divided by age levels.

Linda writes: "Praise God! He is the Provider of all things.
We are humbled and grateful to our Lord for providing the leaders
when there were none, the truth of his Word, and his Spirit to
bring children to Himself. The leaders were LeeAnn Gilman, Angela
Moore, Cora Jones and Berta Saucedo. Marian Kisling taught the
class on Friday when we were short of workers, praise God. Mary
and Enrique Lopez and their family and my son Ron took charge of
the lunch table every day. Two of them took 3 days off work to
help! The children were wonderful and about 15 mothers
stayed every day. The children had fun and the joy of the Lord
was all over. Thank you, God, for so many blessings and because
you are so faithful -- John 1:3."

craft projects that were related to the Bible truths they were
learning.

On Friday veteran GNC leader Marian Kisling of
Oceanside was guest Bible teacher. By this final day of the club
39 boys and girls had responded to the Gospel message.

day after club.

Pizza for everyone! LeeAnn, Angela Moore, and
Lydia Gonzalez set things up. Angela, who is also new to the
ministry, emails:
"The 5-day Club was definitely a blessing to the children,
their parents (especially the parent volunteers), and the
volunteers. There were over 50 children who attended each day.
They not only had fun with their various crafts and
fellowshipping with and helping others, but they seemed to enjoy
their memory verses and learning about Moses and the Israelites.
Many accepted the Lord during these 5 days. Praise God! He really
worked in their hearts. Personally, I felt very blessed to have
the opportunity to work with the kids. I had the 'Green Group'
who were the 6 and 7 year-olds. There were about 12-15 attending
that group each day. I was really delighted about how they
learned their memory verses and listened to the story about
Moses. They paid attention and were able to answer questions
about the story and about Jesus, obedience, and what He did to
cleanse us of our sin. I hope to be able to work with CEF during
the school year and see the children grow over a longer period of
time. I thank the Lord for this opportunity!"
PRAYER
NEEDS
PRAY for the hundreds who came to faith in Christ at the
County Fair outreach. Please pray that the Lord will help these
newborns in the faith to get grounded by spending time with Him
each day in prayer and in His Word. Pray that those who enrolled
in the Mailbox Club will be faithful to complete their lessons
and to begin putting into practice what they are learning. Pray
that new believers will be led by the Lord to begin attending
solid churches where they can grow as disciples.

PRAY as the Lord continues to lead the way for a new Good
News Club at Casita Center School in Vista (above) near the site
of the recent 5-Day Club at Landes Park. Most of the kids who
were part of the club attend this school, and several of the
mothers who came to the club are now interested in helping with a
GNC this fall. Please pray that the Lord would provide the full
team needed and give guidance to leader Linda Gonzalez and those
working with her.
In the
fellowship of our Lord,
Robert Burkley

..."Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them. --Mark 10:14-16
