PRAISE REPORTS



PRAISE the Lord for the 5 day club held this past week using Bible lessons from "The Wordless Book Visualized". Team leader La Keisha Fairbee sends this report:

"I just wanted to take a moment to share of the wonderful things the Lord has done at the 5-day outreach here in Carlsbad.

"On the first day we had 44 kids ages (5-12) and teens that "hung around" to see what was going on. Tuesday we had a more intimate group of 29 kids as we had competition with a very 'happening' Birthday Party. But God blessed this group in a most unique way! We were able to give more 1-on-1 attention to more kids and really connect with them on a more personal level and I'm very glad.

"One of the greatest miracles I've seen is that a very strict Muslim family has consented and allowed their two daughters to come and participate this year. We were praying that the Lord would move in the parents' hearts to allow them to come and participate, and He has. Both young ladies have asked several questions, and while they're not allowed to take home any Christian literature, they have been allowed to take home the nightly Memory Verse Tokens! Hallelujah! God's Word is being planted and received in their hearts!

"Another praise report is that two of the kids accepted Christ today for the first time! Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow! We also thank the Lord for His continued provision that He's poured out so richly. We are so thankful how each day's need has been provided!

"Volunteers - The Lord has brought volunteers and it's been great!  Last night a resident requested to bring fruit for today. And another resident, David, pitched in and became the 'Safety Captain' for us during Hang-Out Time. He's assisted in set-up and break-down and anywhere we need help!"

PRAISE God for progress on the Good News Club being planned for Richland School in San Marcos -- new volunteers have signed up! Team leader Marian Kisling writes: "I had a meeting with two new team members here in my home today. We had a great meeting and it has been the most excited group I have ever worked with. Both are super and full of life! I have two more ladies that will help take attendance and listen to verses."

PRAYER NEEDS



PRAY for God's grace in a controversy that has arisen at Sage Canyon School in Del Mar where we have had a Good News Club in the past and hope to see one again soon. As part of a fundraising drive in which parents donated $250 for a tile decorated by their child, one child included the name "Jesus" (photo above). A parent complained and threatened legal action, and as a result the school has required the tile to be replaced or removed with the money refunded. Please pray that the Lord would use this divisive incident to display His love and truth through the words and actions of Christian kids and parents at the school, and that it would result in changed hearts and minds. Pray that He would work to bring about a return of GNC to the school so that kids could learn why simply the name "Jesus" has such a powerful effect on people! Pray that many of them would come to experience the power of the "name which is above every name" in their lives!



PRAY for GNC leader Dee Abell as she gets the word out at churches and works to recruit teams to carry on clubs started last year in the Poway district and to start new ones as well. She emails: "There is a new church meeting at Willow Grove School (photo above). I told the pastor about Good News Clubs and he sent out an email on it this week. I went there this morning and he had me go up front in the church to talk about GNCs and gave me a few minutes to do it -- praise GOD! I told him my vision is to open new clubs this year and help get others trained and move on to other schools. I plan on opening clubs at Sunset Hills and Adobe Bluffs schools. I have the word out already in the community."
