PRAISE
REPORTS

PRAISE God for answers to prayer! We've been asking for prayer
for the Good News Club in development for Barnett School
in Ramona (above), and things have now
come together for a planned start date
of February 2! Leader Terri Nagem emails: "I
figure, God willing, we will have 2 six-week sessions from then
until May 11 with holidays and a week break in between. Praise
God from whom all blessings flow!"
Please be in prayer that the club would be approved without any
problems and that it would be assigned
a room that will meet the needs of the group.

PRAISE the Lord for bringing His
children together to meet each others' needs! At our
Teachers Forum in Escondido on Saturday (above) GNC volunteers
had a profitable time sharing ideas that have worked in their
clubs and seeking help for problems they've come up against.
Diana Gaines (3rd from right) was one of three first-time
attenders. She volunteers at the Bernardo and Miller
school clubs and later emailed: "Thank
you for holding the Teachers Forum this morning. There were many
helpful ideas put out there. I look forward to the next one!" Diana had a praise for the way the Lord has
met a need at her club through another volunteer: "We are
thanking God that Joanne Sigurdsson has decided to join us at the
Bernardo GNC! It has been hard to get volunteers. We were running
the program shorthanded and have been praying for more
help." Joanne is leader of our
club at North Broadway School and is employed at Bernardo.
When she learned there was a club at the school, she asked if she
might be of help!

PRAISE God for what
He is doing at the club at Willow Grove School in the
Poway district (above). Leader Dee Abell emails: "Today (Tuesday) we had 31 kids, including 5 new
ones. We had 5 receive Jesus for the first time. One little
precious girl came up to me so meekly and quietly and said, 'I
think my sister prayed for the first time too.' I asked her
sister and she said, 'No, the last time we were here was my first
time.' Isn't that sweet?" Dee, who sent out emails to
parents as a reminder after a two-week school break, reports:
"The emailing worked great and I
even got some wonderful responses from parents."

PRAISE the Lord for the first meeting of the new GNC at Mission
Middle School in Escondido on Wednesday. Team leader Linda
Nelson writes, "What a wonderful
afternoon! We only had 6 students show up but it was great. I
taught out of Luke 1 and 2. One girl asked how to open her heart
to Jesus. I asked if that is what she wanted, to pray for that,
and she said yes. I led all 6 in the sinner's prayer and they
accepted Jesus into their hearts. WOW!"
(Please keep praying that this club will grow week by week!)

PRAISE the Lord for a report to prayer supporters from the
team at the GNC at Farr Avenue School in Escondido
(above): "Just to let you
know God blessed us with 35 kids this last Tuesday. One little
3rd grade boy was saved a week ago in answer to prayer we had
asked for him. This time he told Miss Holly that his friends
don't believe in God, but he told them, 'God is REAL, God is
TRUE!' Praise God for his testimony to his friends! Several
children received their Bibles Tuesday for 6 weeks' faithful
attendance. They were interested to find their memory verse in
their very own Bible! One little girl when being counseled using
John 14:6 said, 'I remember that verse, we learned it last year!'
God is still faithful to His Word, He gives us such encouragements along the way! Thank
you for all your prayers and support."
PRAYER
NEEDS

PRAY for the
GNC-in-progress for Turtleback School in the Poway
district. Last week we asked for prayer
for a complete team, and this week team leader Kelly DeHaan
called to say they were ready to go! We applied for use of
facilities right away, but were turned down by the school, citing
no classrooms available (even though a
teacher had volunteered use of his room!). After appealing to the
district, we got word that the request was back on track for
approval. Please pray that it would be granted this week so that
arrangements can be made to get the announcements out before the
break and so the club can start on schedule Jan 14. Please also pray that in addition to electronic
notice the school will approve the distribution of paper flyers
to parents.

PRAY for the
unsatisfactory room assignment at the GNC at Casita Center
School in Vista (above). Nothing can be moved for the club,
meaning that the kids have to sit in a very awkward and broken-up
arrangement. Leader Linda Gonzalez writes: "Please be in prayer for our club and that no one
will get discouraged. There is a very real resistance
present. The teacher who had previously offered her room told us
that after speaking with the principal about it, they feel it
wouldn't be a good idea after all. So we are still meeting in the
room with all their restrictions. We were hoping to invite the
parents for the final club meeting before Christmas, but that
won't work with this arrangement. Still, thanks be
to God for His wonderful grace that the attendance is
still between 45-50. We know that the battle belongs to the Lord
and it's all in His hands."

PRAY for our long-running GNC at Lincoln School in
Escondido (above). Because of family health problems our faithful
team leader Maud Middleton will not be able to participate this
season. Team member Paulette Oberle has stepped forward to fill
the role, but the club can't start until a few more volunteers
sign on to help. Please pray for these needed servants! Pray that
a church bulletin announcement of this ministry opportunity will
be approved and that believers will respond! (The club plans to
meet Thursdays, 1:40-2:40pm.)
In the
fellowship of our Lord,
Robert Burkley

..."Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them. --Mark 10:14-16
