TEACHERS FORUM coming January 16 & 18



At age 12 Jesus amazed the teachers in the temple at Jerusalem with His understanding of the Scriptures. He was already "about His Father's business", living in obedience to Him in all things. The Bible says He returned with his earthly parents to Nazareth and "was subject to them" as He "increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men". In our next series of six Good News Club lessons, "Life of Christ, part 1", we'll be learning how to help kids follow Jesus's example of obeying God as they grow up, including obeying the parents He has given to them!

PRAISE the Lord that kids at Good News Clubs are signing up for free "CEF Mailbox Club" Bible lessons through the mail -- at the Rose School club in Escondido over 50 kids have enrolled! Please pray that they would stick to it and complete the course, and that the Lord would help them to understand and live by what they discover in His Word. PRAYER NEED

PRAY with Judy Erickson, our Good News Club leader at Glen View School in Escondido, as she seeks to tell others about the opportunity to reach kids at school. She emails, "I have such a burden to get out to believers in churches the word about GNCs. Please could you put something in your e-bulletin about how excited some of us would be to present the need/opportunity/open door in every Christ-centered, Bible-believing church? I am so sad that so few believers know about this wonderful open door. Even Christian public school teachers need to know. Many, many pastors have NO CLUE. I believe I must push harder and be aggressive to get out the word, to sound the clarion call to arms."

Good News Club at El Camino Creek School, Carlsbad

It's the law!
The US Supreme Court has ruled that Good News Clubs (weekly Bible clubs) are allowed to use public school facilities on the same basis as other groups like Boy Scouts, Brownies, etc. Praise the Lord for this amazing open door for the Gospel! (NY Times article)
 
Believers are reaching the kids
Good News Clubs are reaching many kids whose parents don't attend any church or who belong to non-Christian religions, as well as kids from Christian homes. Whole families are being reached in the community and becoming part of local fellowships. Thousands of boys and girls are coming to know Christ as their Savior and learning to live for Him each day at home and in the public school environment. But most schools still don't have a club. You can be part of this God-given opportunity to reach every public school for Jesus Christ.
 
Thousands of Good News Clubs
Good News Clubs are a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF), founded in 1937 and now serving in 158 countries -- the world's largest ministry to children. There are thousands of Good News Clubs across the country, and more all the time.
 
Teaching God's Word
Good News Clubs meet once a week right after school. Announcements are sent home through the school, and parents sign a permission form. The clubs are are free of charge and open to all. Teams of ordinary Christians with a heart for kids volunteer to conduct the clubs, and CEF provides free training. Each Bible lesson includes the Gospel message along with solid growth teaching for believers. The children also sing lively songs, learn a memory verse, and play fun games.
