PRAISE REPORTS



PRAISE God for the reports coming from our new GNC™ at Capri School in Encinitas. Team member Andy Vick snapped pictures the first day on the 15th and emailed: "We had a great turnout of over 40 kids." In the shot above Carlos Gonzalez and Amy Bennett lead the songs. Michelle Vick, seen teaching the group below, writes: "We just completed our second GNC and implemented a schedule which I think is really going to work. We had a great turnout again and even more new kids came. I feel like God has provided the people we need to fill in and help out using their gifts. The kids are awesome and full of excitement to be there, which is encouraging. Afterwards, when my girls got in the car they both said, 'That was so much fun!'."





PRAISE the Lord for His blessings at the first meeting of the season of the GNC at Mission Meadows School (Vista district) on Wednesday. Team leader Maureen Slottje writes: "We had a GREAT start...after standing in the rain handing out flyers on Tuesday (which meant we got to meet many parents as well as the school staff!). We were warmly welcomed, and the principal even announced the club over the PA system the next day!! She asked for extra flyers to put in the office as she thought more parents would ask, and said this club is what all the students need!  We had 35 our first meeting, with 10 responding to the invitation. It was much better organized and all of us were very encouraged. Thank you for praying!"



PRAISE the Lord for our Good News Club volunteers who invest their time to get equipped! Veteran team members as well as newcomers gathered at our Teachers Forum on Monday morning in Carlsbad (above). Established clubs and some still getting off the ground were represented, as together we studied God's Word and learned how to help kids know and follow Jesus.



PRAISE the Lord for an update on the GNC ministry on the La Jolla and Rincon reservations. Above are Christina Dillane and ministry leader Susan Curo; below, the entire Tribal team. Christina emails: "Praise God for a practice session on Jan 14 for our first Rincon Good News Club! We praise Him for tribal support, a spacious room, enthusiastic hearts and lives, and His grace. This week we are praying for the Rincon children to be able to receive the invitations/permission slips that have been lost in the administration somehow, even though they were delivered. We were ready to invite the kids in, but only able to see them peering in from outside with no permission slips. This past week clubs were postponed due to the storms and possible floods and mud slides. We are set to start again in La Jolla on the 26th of Jan and in Rincon on Thursday the 28th. We're believing that God will make a way for the children to come!"



PRAISE the Lord for good news from Ramona! Our club at Barnett School was approved this week, scheduled to start Feb 23. And flyers for that club and the one set to start Feb 3 at Ramona Community School also got the OK from the district.

PRAISE God for another believer who has heard about GNCs in the schools by email! Dee Abell, leader of our clubs at Willow Grove and Sunset Hills schools, received a reply from a mom to the email she sends out informing people of the opportunity: "Hi Dee! I just recently heard about the Good News Club (apparently I've been under a rock). I took my kids today in hopes of meeting you and talking to you about this great ministry! By the way, I'm really glad that my kids were able to experience this, even if it was late in the game. I realize that spreading the word of the Lord will not only benefit myself, but my children as well. If God tells me this is what He wants me to do, I can help out in any way needed. This is something I am very interested in and will be praying a lot about for an answer. Thank you so much for your time and dedication to this program. It is so inspiring and exciting to hear about ministries like this in our public school system. It just really reassures me that He is just that awesome!"

PRAYER NEEDS

PRAY for our Good News Clubs with an urgent need for helpers if they are to continue! Among them are:

Glen View School (Escondido) -- Leader Judy Erickson asks for prayer for two volunteers. The club meets Thursdays, 1:30-2:30pm. Contact her at (760) 747-3581 if you can help.

LR Green School (Escondido) -- Leader Teri Chalfant asks that you pray for the one (preferably two!) helpers they need to keep going. This club meets Thursdays, 1:45-2:45pm. Please contact Teri at (760) 741-9859.

PRAY for our GNC starting this Thursday, Jan 28 at Bonsall Elementary School (in the Community Center), 1:40-2:40pm. Please pray that many of the kids who were coming last season will return, and ask the Lord to bring lots of new kids, too! Pray for the volunteer team as they teach the Bible to the boys and girls. Ask the Lord to convict hearts of their need for a Savior from sin, and to reveal through His Word the truth of who Jesus is. Pray that kids who already know the Lord will learn how to please Him more in their lives.
