WOULD YOU JOIN ME IN A CHALLENGE? A word from CEF committee member Christina Dillane:

Will you call FOUR people FOR Christ's sake FOR reaching boys and girls this week? Remind them to make that reservation and offer to pick up those who need a ride, or suggest carpooling. Think of inviting those who have never heard of CEF. Invite those who have been laboring in clubs and need refreshing. Then before you hang up, pray over the phone with them, asking the Lord to be fully honored at the CEF Impact Breakfast, bringing all those that He would have to come. May no school be without the Gospel! I will be taking this challenge along with you. Let me know if you are joining me by emailing a "hello" and let's share the blessings of reaching out together! By the way, is your reservation in yet? Mine is!

PRAISE REPORTS



PRAISE God for the big response this season to GNC™ (above) at Mission Meadows School in Oceanside (Vista district)! The Lord has blessed them with use of the spacious multi-purpose room and attendance is UP to help fill it. The gung-ho team of volunteers from North Coast Church includes Peggy Boerneke, Debbie Christian, Cindy & Lisa Havre, Jeanelle Higgins, Dave & Maureen Slottje, and Annemarie Stummer. Above, Scripture verse teacher Debbie helps the group understand some vital truth for today's kids from James 4:7: "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

Bible teacher Jeanelle (below) sent lots of recent photos of doings at the club, and adds: "I hope these pics show the excitement, enthusiasm, and receptivity of the children to hear and receive the Good News of Jesus Christ in the public schools of America!"

PRAISE the Lord that Good News Club is so much fun! Above, during the opening game at a recent session at Rock Springs School in Escondido two boys race to escape from long, stretchy fabric tubes which they must climb their way through -- EVERYBODY was loudly cheering them on, and EVERYBODY wanted a turn! Fastest time for any pair was 8 seconds!

PRAYER NEEDS



PRAY about a pending case before the US Supreme Court that has the potential to limit the access of Good News Clubs to the public schools. Kim Vermeulen, leader of our new club at Ramona Community School, alerted us to this prayer need. Read the details here: http://cefkids.com/2010.02.17SupremeCourtCase.CLS.pdf

PRAY for the GNC in the Oceanside area that is under development. Last week we applied at Lake School (in Oceanside, but part of the Vista school district), but were denied by the school, citing the usual "every room is in use" reason. Other schools in Vista have denied us this season for the same reason, but in each case the district has finally overridden the school and approved our club. At this point in the season, rather than delay the club as we appeal the denial, we are considering applying at another school where we know we have access, such as McAuliffe. Please pray for the Lord's wisdom in getting this club underway as soon as possible at the school He would have us reach -- the team is ready to go!



PRAY as flyers go out on Monday to the kids and parents at Central School in Escondido for our GNC starting there March 2. We haven't been at this school in 3 years, so many will not have heard of GNC. Please pray that all the teachers would distribute the flyers in their classes, that the flyers would make it home to parents, and that parents would respond positively!
