PRAISE
REPORTS
PRAISE the Lord for the overwhelmingly enthusiastic
response to our presentation of the Good News Club ministry at
Calvary Chapel of Escondido on Sunday, April 11. Above, CEF
Director Robert Burkley was given time by Pastor Miles
DeBenedictis during each of the three morning services to show a
video and then inform the congregation of the opportunity to
reach kids in the public schools with the gospel. A show of hands
revealed that about half of those present had not heard of the
door the Lord has opened. After services in the courtyard (below)
our info table, staffed by GNC volunteers who attend the church,
was mobbed by believers waiting in line to sign up to get the Praise
& Prayer Bulletin or to volunteer to serve at schools
from Valley Center to Vista. In all we had a record 44 signups!
PRAISE God for a bumper crop
of new GNC volunteers at our special Teachers Forum training
session held on Sat., April 10 at Emmanuel Faith Church in
Escondido (above). With ten new clubs starting in April, we
scheduled this extra class especially for them, and the response
was very encouraging! Clubs represented were Nichols
(Oceanside), Orange Glen (Escondido), Olive
(Vista), Lincoln (Escondido), Lake (Oceanside,
Vista district), Pioneer (Escondido), and Twin Oaks
(San Marcos). These volunteers were on time and ready to get
ready to reach the kids. They had a lot of good questions and
much to contribute. Please pray for them as they go forward in
faith!

PRAYER
NEEDS
PRAY as flyers and electronic announcements go out this
week and next for all our GNCs starting in April. These clubs
will only have six weeks to run this season, but a lot of kids
can hear the Good News in six weeks! Please pray that the
volunteers will be able to get the flyers copied and to the
school offices on time, that they'll be given out by the
classroom teachers, and that they'll make it home to parents!
Pray that kids who get flyers at their church will hand them out
in advance to friends at school. Pray that kids and parents will
respond positively. Pray especially that 5th graders who will be
moving on to middle school will want to come. Here are the
schools:
Hanson (Ramona)
Nichols (Oceanside)
Lake (Oceanside, Vista district)
Olive (Vista)
Lincoln (Escondido)
Orange Glen (Escondido)
Oak Valley
Middle (Poway district)
Twin Oaks (San Marcos)
Pioneer (Escondido)
Stone Ranch (Poway district)
PRAY that the Lord would give guidance in placing new
volunteers who are willing to serve where needed in the right
clubs. Several clubs need helpers urgently and some of our new
recruits are flexible, but have various restrictions on the days
and times they have free. Please pray that the Lord would work
out the logistics to meet the needs!
