PRAISE REPORTS


PRAISE the Lord for blessings that come from kids! Before GNC™ started on Thursday at Lincoln School in Escondido, one of the 2nd grade boys who's been coming faithfully asked team member Marilyn Burkley for a pencil so he could write something down in his notebook during the Bible lesson. She alerted her husband Robert, who was telling the story of Jesus as a child teaching in the temple, why the boy would be writing. Afterwards the young man presented a portrait from life (above) to the teacher. The gospel had been explained to the kids through Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord", and including the flashcard of Jesus on the cross in his picture shows that the boy truly grasped the meaning of the lesson!



PRAISE the Lord for a beautiful day at the Escondido Street Faire on Sunday, May 16. The weather was perfect and there were lots of people. Above, it was faithful fair volunteer John Nash's birthday, and he traveled from Oceanside to spend part of it at the CEF booth bringing the message of the new birth in Christ to kids and parents! We had 148 come in to hear the Good News, and 41 made professions of faith in Jesus. Also, 68 kids enrolled in the Mailbox Club free Bible lessons by mail. Below, kids are getting help making their own gospel bracelets.





PRAISE God for meeting needs through His servants! The small team of four at our big new Orange Glen School GNC in Escondido has one member out on leave due to a health problem (please pray for Sy Alvarez!). When Leroy Wentz, a volunteer at our Pioneer School club, learned of the need at OG, he showed up on Thursday to fill in. Team leader Anna Vargas emails, "Thank you so much Leroy for helping us out. Leroy is a blessing!" Lisa McCament adds, "We are praising the Lord for an average of 35 really nice students over 4 weeks and a new team member, Leroy, who stepped in when Sy got sick and couldn't help. Anna and Emily are doing a wonderful job with the singing and stories. The only negative is that just when we will have learned the kids names, our club will end for the semester!"



PRAISE the Lord that kids are excited about learning--and singing--God's Word! From the Mission Meadows club in the Vista district team member Jeanelle Higgins sends photos with an email: "We have been teaching on the 'Beginnings' lessons (from Genesis) and some of the photos show Debbie Christian leading a song about the days of Creation (above and below). The children were holding up the number of the day and several items that represented what God created on that day. The kids loved it so much that we sang that song twice!"





Afterwards, Jeanelle held the kids' attention (above and below) as she taught about Cain and Abel and the need for believers to worship God with a right heart attitude.

PRAYER NEEDS



PRAY for growth at our new GNC at Hanson School in Ramona (above), which started April 19. Leader Terri Nagem reports, "Our club is going well, but we could use prayer for more kids. We have only had six to seven kids show up. They have been very attentive and I know we have one girl who says she is a Mormon. Thanks for the prayers."

PRAY for the 176 volunteers needed at this year's San Diego County Fair ministry.
