PRAISE
REPORTS
![]()
PRAISE the Lord for all He has done at
Good News Club at Solana Santa Fe School in Rancho Santa
Fe which got off the ground this season. Team member Leslie
Lehberg emails: "Misty Thompson is the founding leader of
the GNC and I assist. We're thrilled that we now have 15 students
attending the club on a regular basis. Our favorite activities
are acting out the lesson in skits, singing praise songs (above,
Misty leading 'Father Abraham'), playing memory verse scramble
(below) and quizzing each other on past lessons."

Leslie adds a request: "Thank you for your prayers. Please
continue to pray that going into summer we can keep this building
momentum going back to school in the fall!"

PRAISE God for the GNC appreciation
luncheon held on Thursday at Horizon Christian Fellowship (photos

local Solana Beach and Del Mar districts!

Jukay Lu, leader of the Sage Canyon School
club, sends a report: "Pastor Jared Petty (above, sharing
from Scripture), Pastor Michael Williams, and the Children's
Ministry blessed the GNC leaders with a luncheon and a wonderful
time of worship, praise, sharing some testimonies, encouraging
stories, ideas, and suggestions for next year. Here are a few
highlights from the leaders:
"Misty Thompson (Solana Santa Fe, first year club):
She is truly thankful for the opportunity to teach GNC -- she has
learned the Bible like never before!
"Lisa and Laurie McGuerty (Torrey Hills): By asking
the older kids to step up in leadership and planning, they have
seen behavior changes in the other kids, and experienced more
cooperation, learning, and fun at the club.
"Pastor Michael Williams (Solana Pacific): It was
neat to specifically touch on issues concerning 5th and 6th
graders, such as the students' right to pray at the lunch table,
creation vs. evolution, etc.
"Nikki Ralph and Jayn Lee (Solana Highlands): It was
Nikki's first year in teaching the lessons -- an awesome
testimony to witness God's leading and faithfulness!
"Tiffany Lien and Jukay Lu (Sage Canyon): It was a
fruitful and rewarding year in our GNC. The attendance has
doubled. It has been a great privilege to reach out to many who
are unchurched. One 8-year-old little girl was saved during the
lesson on Nicodemus because the Lord's hand directed."
Jukay adds, "At the end, we split into
small groups to pray (below). One of the prayer requests is to be
able to have a GNC at Rancho Santa Fe Elementary in the
next school year."

PRAISE the Lord for a great first season at our GNC at Barnett
School in Ramona. Team leader Jen Doyle writes, "They
had so much fun that lots of the kids and parents are ready to
start again in the fall. Here are some pictures: Michelle
Gesualdo (above) leads all our games and helps the kids learn
verses, and I (below) explain how Jesus 'bridges' the gap between
us and God."

PRAISE God for all the end-of-season reports of His
blessings pouring in from GNCs!:
Olive (Vista), April Sparks, a teacher at the school who
leads the GNC: "We finished last week with a big pizza party
and ice cream! I asked the children what they learned, and one of
the fifth grade girls told me that she learned that Jesus could
come into her heart. We also prayed for another one of the fifth
grade girl's nephews that was born having serious lung problems.
The next day she came and told me that he was all better! She
told her family that we prayed for him at the GNC! Two second
grade groups of students are going to perform some of the songs I
taught them at our school's talent show! God's Word is so
powerful! It has been a blessing to have the GNC at our
school...thank you! A prayer request: That the Word of God stays
strong in the children's hearts, and they never forget what they
learned at the GNC this year."
Mission Meadows (Oceanside), leader Maureen Slottje: "Total
enrollment for year 88 with average attendance of 48. Total
salvation for first time 46 -- PTL! A wonderful year. One of our
5th graders asked us to start a club at their new middle
school!"
Beaumont (Vista), Pastor
Sam Cracchiolo: "Our team has been truly blessed to be a
part of your program this year. God Bless You."
Valley View Mobile Park
(Fallbrook), leader Carol Guttman: "The children are
faithful and exceptional. They want to continue on through the
summer and love learning all about the Bible. And they love to
sing! Their favorite is 'Good News, Good News, Christ died for
me....' and 'I May Not be a Peter or a Paul', which goes on to
say, 'I told my friend of Jesus love, and brought my friend to
Good News Club, now I'm a missionary after all.' They sing that
song with gusto!"
Stone Ranch (Poway district), leader Brooks Barnhard:
"Lots of rededications! Please pray for next fall."
Twin Oaks (San Marcos), team member Amy Ketchum sends a
praise report in pictures, all shot on the last day of the
season, June 4:

Judy Linscheid helps the kids to hide God's
Word in their hearts: "Present your bodies a living
sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable
service" (Rom. 12:1).

Outside on the field there's time to cut loose
with a fun game.

Cindy Campbell teaches from the Bible, helping the kids to
understand that even at their age they can commit their lives to
God, just as Jesus called His twelve disciples to do!
PRAYER
NEEDS
![]()
PRAY for helpers needed for a neighborhood 5-Day Club at John
Landes Park & Rec Center in Oceanside (above) to be held
the third week in July. Linda Gonzalez has been leading this
ministry for the past few summers, and many kids have been
reached for the Lord! It can't happen without the faithful
servants needed for this Monday-Friday 2-hour program. If you may
be able to help on one or more days, please call Linda at (760)
603-1122.
PRAY for requests sent in by GNC team members:
Hanson (Ramona), Terri Nagem: "Prayers for more kids
next year."
La Costa Meadows (San Marcos district), Kym Anderson: "We had a
great year with much help. One of our main leaders is leaving the
ministry next year. Please pray for a replacement. Thank
you!"
Mission Middle (Escondido), Linda Nelson: "We are keeping our
consistent group of 9 weekly. Pray for students to come back as
leaders next year."
Glen View (Escondido), Naomi Umland: "We ask prayer for
the fifth graders as they are going to enter into middle school.
We pray for boldness and confidence to walk in their faith and
stand firm in Christ."
La Jolla Reservation (Pauma Valley), Susan Curo: "Our teen GNC
might be coming to an end since the school bus won't be running
but we're hoping to find rides for the boys to continue our
classes. Please pray for our summer activities so that we can
continue to have an outreach to our tribal kids. Thank you
all!"
In the fellowship
of our Lord,
Robert Burkley

..."Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them. --Mark 10:14-16
