PRAISE
REPORTS
PRAISE the Lord for our
third week of fruitful outreach at the SD County Fair. The
largest throngs so far at the Del Mar Fairgrounds turned out on
Saturday and Sunday, drawn by attractions big and small, noisy
and quiet, including the irresistible prize-winning bunnies at
the AgriFair building not far from CEF's Story Castle (below).
One unexpected blessing on Saturday was a
return visit by Ron Hoofard of SD (above) who had first stopped
by a couple of seasons back to encourage the volunteers on duty
with his testimony -- he received the Lord as a 5-year-old at
CEF's fair booth way back in 1963!
Out to spread the
Good News to today's crop of kids on Saturday morning were Tammi
Melzer (above, left) and her good friends Phil and Marie Weber.
Phil was brave enough to wear the gospel-colors high hat while
inviting the kids and parents in to hear the message.
On Sunday morning at 10 sharp, fair
stalwart John Nash of Oceanside was at his post, telling the kids
about Jesus and encouraging them to trust in Him as Savior, just
as John did as a teenager.
In the afternoon Haylee Bell and Chris Breed,
friends from Faith Community Church in Encinitas, returned for
their second season at the fair. They had just returned the night
before from a missions trip to Peru!
PRAYER
NEEDS
PRAY
as emails begin going out this week to pastors and children's
ministry directors at churches all across North County, informing
them of the opportunity to reach their local communities through
after-school Good News Clubs and encouraging them to get
involved. Please pray that the emails will get through and make
an impression! Pray that new clubs will come about as a result
and that lots more kids will hear about the Lord at their
schools. One church that has become involved is North Coast
Church in Vista. Below, team member Dave Slottje explains the
gospel at the last GNC meeting of the season in May at the
Mission Meadows School club in Oceanside, which North Coast has
