PRAISE REPORTS



PRAISE the Lord for the afterglow of blessing from our County Fair outreach. Inga Hughes (above), a GNC volunteer during the school year, served three days at the fair this season! She emails, "The opportunity to share the extravagance of God's love when Jesus chose to suffer for us...well, it just blesses me to see others 'get it' and reinforces faith in my own heart. Thank you so much for the opportunity to do this! Praise God!"



PRAISE the Lord for pastors who are responding to our informational emails being sent to churches across North County about the opportunity they have to be part of reaching the local public schools through Good News Clubs. This week Pastor Di-Jen Wang from Chinese Bible Church in Vista called to say he will be announcing it to the congregation and including info sheets (above) in this week's church bulletin.

Please pray for two schools near Pastor Wang's church, Alvin Dunn and Joli Ann Leichtag, which don't have GNC teams. Pray that the hundreds and hundreds of kids at these schools will be able to have a GNC on their campus where they can hear the truth of God's Word, come to know Jesus as Savior, and begin growing as disciples. Pray that committed Christians will answer the call to serve the Lord in this wonderful way.



PRAISE God for our newest volunteer, Keri Wise (above), a 1st grade teacher at Casita Center School in Vista, who found out about GNCs in the schools when one came to her campus this year! The room the club had to meet in was inadequate, so Keri has offered her own classroom for the club next season if needed, but hopes that the school might be persuaded to grant a larger space. She writes, "Thank you for allowing me a special venue to serve our Lord. I think the Lord's plans of connecting us all have come to fruition!" This week Keri will be serving for the first time as an official CEF volunteer when she joins the team at the 5-Day Club at nearby Landes Park (see prayer request below).

PRAYER NEEDS



PRAY for the 5-Day Club taking place this week, July 19-23, at Landes Park in Oceanside. In the photo above Linda Gonzalez is shown leading the club held last summer at the same spot. Announcements went out to all the kids at two nearby schools, Casita Center and Grapevine, before summer vacation started, so please pray for a big, big turnout! Pray for Linda, Bible teacher John Nash, and the whole team as they bring the Word of God to boys and girls who need to hear it. Pray for cooler weather, pray that the Lord will help the kids to stay focused in the outdoor setting, and pray that He would open hearts, as He did Lydia's right on the riverbank in Philippi (Acts 16:13-14), to heed the truth and respond in faith!



PRAY for our Tel-A-Story ministry, which is currently not functioning. "Tel-A-Story" means recorded stories for kids heard over the phone which present the message of salvation in a clear and simple way. We need to retire our ancient equipment and bring the technology up to the digital age. Please pray that a voicemail service company that offers free service to non-profits will accept our application, and that the kids can be calling in, hearing the stories loud and clear, and learning about Jesus again soon!
